St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church is a cornerstone of faith and fellowship in Austin, Texas. Our mission is to share the love of Jesus, serve our neighbors, and grow together as a faithful family of believers. Every chapter of our story is defined by our commitment to spiritual renewal and community service, building a legacy of hope and worship that has touched generations of believers in our community.

Organized on May 16, 1915, our journey through faith led us under the leadership of Reverend Bowser and the Reverend Palmers, who guided the transition to our home at 3107 East 51st Street in 1981. During the 1990s and early 2000s, pastors Alton Tisino and Robert Walker Sr. led with vision, celebrating a landmark mortgage burning in May 2000. Following Pastor Walker’s retirement in 2023, Reverend Parnell Curtis became our pastor in February 2024. God has faithfully provided leaders for every season, and we look to the future with hope, committed to sharing the love of Jesus through worship and service.
